There are a handful of artists we would say have been revolutionizing music over the past few years. Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, and Francis and the Lights are three that would surely top our list, but 21-year-old Amber Bain ( The Japanese House) isn't far behind. With a sound unlike anyone else's, she's established herself as one of the most meticulous artists around, and, now, she is taking another big step forward with her fourth project, Saw You In A Dream. What's most similar about Amber and the aforementioned artists is the amount of raw emotion packed into their music. She makes the sort of songs that nearly feel too personal and special to be played publicly, and, in her new EP, she dives even deeper than she might've before. In addition to "Saw You In A Dream" and "3/3" is the project's final song, "Count To Nine", a nine-minute sonic marathon that might be her most experimental yet. "Somebody you found", meanwhile, is more optimistic, but its lyrics are quite the opposite and make for a heavily engaging affair. We're going to cherish Saw You In A Dream just as much as Amber's previous EPs, and, to our great joy, it appears that the next project we receive from her will be her first full-length album. We can't wait to hear what she does with that forthcoming LP, but, for now, we will be spending quite some time diving into this one below.
