It's pretty standard for us to come across acts that we believe deserve greater attention, but in the case of Dutch four-piece The Indien, it's downright criminal that their music has been flying so far under the radar. At long last, though, we're bringing the band and their exceptional debut EP, Cologne, to the surface, and it shouldn't take too long at all for their sound to take the music world by storm. Like many of our favorite new acts, The Indien has instilled an authentic, vintage feel in their work that really sets them apart from most others. Throughout their work, we hear strains of everything from classical-sounding pop, to psych-rock, to laid-back soul, and thus, this group's impressive versatility is put on shining display. Rianne Walther is responsible for the consistently brilliant vocals we hear throughout, but the rest of the band's production and instrumentation is spot-on as well and is to be similarly regarded.
