The Grouch has been putting out quality hip-hop for a minute now, but in the wake of his successful Kickstarter campaign with Eligh to raise funds for their triple album release, this newest single is just the first of many more great tracks to come. In this three-album package, The Tortoise and The Crow, will be a solo album from each & one collaborative album. And if this latest track is any indication of what Grouch's solo album will sound like, then consider us excited because "My Best teacher" marks the return of The Grouch to top-form, and the production from hip-hop legend, Ant, definitely lives up to the man's extensive pedigree. In classic Grouch fashion, the lyrics are almost prosaic in their delivery, but if the words themselves aren't poetry, then we don't know what is. The beat isn't rushed, and that's the way it should be in this case. What's really got us excited, though, is the way they incorporated guitar notes and a bunch of other unorthodox textures into the mix. It almost reminds us of what Built To Fade was able to do with do with standout tracks like "Willie Sutton", which is never a bad thing.
