It's not often you get a stellar last-minute addition to the day's release schedule, but just a little while ago we came across this new track by The Careful Ones called "Easy Tiger", and it managed to blow us away. The intro is all rhythm and sunshine, and the vocals are masterfully mixed in with the rest of the track. Things really start to pick up when the drums come in though, as the song opens up with tons of effortless energy and pace. Wait just a little longer, and "Easy Tiger" flips the sonic scripts again, but instead of hitting you with even bigger sounds, the band pulls back on the reins and settles into a very folksy series of guitar notes which are much more refined than anything we were initially expecting. If the band had looped back to the beginning from that point, recycling some of the introductory composition for the second half of the song, "Easy Tiger" would have still been a win, but these guys don't seen to be content with just the bare minimum; they are intent on exploring new sounds. By the time you're done with the track, you'll find that you've been taken on a sonic trip through countless musical influences and about three different genres. Play it over and over, too, because we guarantee you there's enough to keep you entertained much longer than your typical indie release.
