The Aston Shuffle has always put out solid tracks, but they’ve only recently started to get the widespread recognition they deserve, and with such a steady stream of great tunes still coming from the duo, it looks as if they’ve finally hit their stride. This remix here looks to keep the hot streak alive, and with such an awesome sound, we’re of the opinion that it’s going to do just that. The vocals on the new interpretation are still as strong as ever, and when combined with UNO Stereo’s crisp production work, the remix takes on a life of its own. The original version had a lot of anthemic elements to it, and they worked great with the overall composition, but this remix has completely pulled out all the echo and wide-open sections of the song and replaced them with very sharp bass hits and synth chords that cut in and out with a distinct abruptness. Where The Aston Shuffle transitioned from section to section with sweeping chords and smooth overlays, UNO Stereo makes do with some very terse shifts in the sound. This isn’t a bad thing, though. In fact, UNO Stereo has really exposed the versatility of the lyrics on this new version, and really reinventing the pleasure factor of that aspect of the track. Both the original and this remix are stellar songs, to be sure, but it would be a mistake to try to pit the two against each other to see which one is better. The Aston Shuffle put out a fantastic single when they dropped “No Place Like Home”, and UNO Stereo’s version is the perfect way to keep all the wonderful elements fresh.
