When we premiered EMBRZ's Ellie Goulding remix here a couple months ago, we knew we had something really special on our hands. What we didn't anticipate, though, was the overwhelming critical reception that the song would receive from bloggers and fans alike. Since its release, the remix has amassed over a half a million plays on SoundCloud alone (and another million at least on YouTube), his back catalog got a second wind with listeners, and what was once a small-time producer living in Maynooth, Ireland, is now a budding star with the big players sitting squarely in his artistic crosshairs. This latest remix of his, interpreting The 1975's "Settle Down", picks up right where his last release left off, and his signature rolling melodies that serve as the backdrop for the rest of the texture layering are present and accounted for. Listen to all of his songs and you'll notice his ability to balance basslines, beats, and synth chords while blending them all together into one smooth package is uncanny. It's rare a producer lands on a sound that is both distinctly proprietary and catchy at the same time, but that's just what he's done, and this latest release is equally at home in your headphones right before bed as it is blasting on your car stereo during a morning commute.
