Matty Healy in full literary mode, the verses reading more like spoken word before the track opens into something unexpectedly moving. 'Part Of The Band' is the clearest example of what the 1975 can do when they resist the impulse to over-produce: acoustic instrumentation, real arrangement, and a hook that earns its length.
