If you're going to name your debut EP Bop City, you better have the talent and a roster of infectious songs to back it up. Luckily, Terror Jr does deliver on their aptly titled first effort, and the eight-track stunner blends a multitude of genres and styles that have created the eclectic sound and millions of plays across streaming platforms they have. Bop City's opening track, "Little White Bars", is a light dancehall track that has a really ethereal, danc-ready vibe. "Pray" and "Say So" follow current trends in hip-hop and R&B with skittering hi-hats and deep vocal pitching, but lead singer Lisa puts a pop spin on both, making them all the more special. Previously released tracks "Three Strikes" (which got the Astronomyy edit treatment) and "Sugar" also feature on the EP, blending the old seamlessly with the new. To put things simply, Bop City is a really fun, adventurous first EP. Anyone looking for feel-good and brooding alternative-pop will enjoy Bop City to its fullest extent. The songs within offer glimpses into the future(s) of the genres it has, and we already can't wait to see what the next chapter for the three here holds.
