Terence Ryan

Small Town Soul

To come across an EP like Terence Ryan’s Will Word & Hand is the highlight of our day, and, truthfully, it should be the highlight of all music fans. There’s an intrinsic connection that we feel with the burgeoning talent from Southern Massachusetts, and, though this may be the first post we’ve tagged with his name inside, don’t let that mask the fact that this is some really, really, remarkable stuff. There’s a certain way that Terence's music—especially the entirety of the EP in front of us—flows. Take a listen to any of the tracks on the project individually, and you'll piece by impressive piece, but, when conjoined, you have something considerably head-turning. “Champain,” a glistening work of electro-folk, “Sweet Alchemy,” a completely Built on Glass-sounding cut, “Stranger than Fiction,” a...country-structured track, and others just make an immense sonic whole. The genre-traversing nature of the EP is truly masterful through and through, and his perpetual drive to curate sounds has birthed something here that deserves to be heard over and over and over again.
