Terence Ryan arrived a couple years back when his emotive and alluring Will Word & Hand EP came to the surface. Beyond its impression on the Boston community where it was conceived, the project garnered the singer-songwriter a serious amount of attention throughout the music sphere, and, today, as it happens, we have a second project to soak in with Don’t Panic, his debut LP. In a fresh, matured rendition of his indie-folk sound, Ryan’s introspective lyrical journey continues here in a project that spans a breadth of moods and tones, which is in fitting proximity with the ups and downs of blue-collar life. From the drawn-out “Soul Lay Open”, to the alternative “Nothing” and “Hindsight”, Ryan speaks to his upbringing in a project that, for him, was "the first true step to self-realization as a man.” Amidst its head-nodding highs and soft-touched lows, though, there’s a story here to be told, and, whether that’s through lyrics or melody, Ryan was the right man to tell it all.
