Tei Shi's new track, "See Me", is one of those you'll be able to listen to over and over again without getting sick of what you're hearing within. The way she makes her music is unlike a lot of other artists out right now, and if you're ever in the mood for some laid-back tunes that melt into the background as they exit your speakers, then Tei should be your artist of choice. Most of her work is pretty reserved, sure, and her subtle penchant for R&B-infused undertones is tempered by a lot of soft, experimental production work, but don't be fooled—there's a lot more she shares than initially meets the ear. Each song she puts out has a plethora of different influences and flavors, and "See Me" is no exception. The track opens up with a bassline that's a lot more minimalistic than some of her previous work, but she doesn't let the track stagnate, and if you give it a little bit of time, you'll pick up on all the different threads of sound that get woven in to make the track into something much, much, bigger. Eventually, some guitar-driven elements get folded in, and this is where "See Me" really comes into it's own. At first, she leads you to believe you're in for something that moves at a snail's pace, but by the time all the pieces have been put in place, it sounds much more like something The xx would put out if they decided to get a bit more cinematic.
