Haddaway's "What Is Love" hit from 1993 is not really seen as a classic song in most eyes; it's more so seen as a song that we look back on in a comedic sense. Maybe that's from the famous SNL skits, or maybe it's because the song is just that ridiculous. Whatever your thoughts on that song are, there is no denying the beautiful job that Dutch newcomers, Tears & Marble, did with their cover here. Thankfully, their cover is nowhere near the original. Gone is the 90's dance cheese; it's been replaced with a gorgeously atmospheric haze of verb-heavy percussion, xx guitar plucks, and sparse piano keys. This is the very first track released from Tears & Marble, and with the promise of a EP coming soon from these guys, it goes without saying that they have our attention.
