It seemed to be another case of "another day, another incredible Slow Magic remix" as we opened our inbox to find this little gem awaiting us. You will have to excuse the nonchalant nature of our opening statement, but at this stage in the game, we have surpassed being surprised by the quality exhibited from the producer. Excellence is what we have come to expect from any piece of work with Slow Magic’s name attached, and this latest remix of “Tethered Bones” is no different. Now, shifting to topical gears, Irish producer Talos became an online musical sensation himself this year as he debuted the dark electronic of “Tethered Bones” and backed it up with the equally prodigious sounds of “Bloom”. As the release of his 12” vinyl single looms ever closer, we are finally getting a chance to hear reinventions of the shadowy source material—a challenge that's proved an easy accomplishment for Mr. Magic here. By stripping back nearly every aspect of the original, only the soulful vocal stem remains intact (albeit slightly reverbed), and from there, the artist incorporates a synthesized organ arrangement and finger-click percussion that diverts the trajectory of the track into tantalizing realms of lounge composition. It is a stark, yet confident departure from the parent material, but it's one with all the hallmarks of Slow Magic's impeccable production.
