With only two singles under his belt, Irish producer Eoin French (Talos) has made quite a name for himself. With striking press images bereft of any colour and a delightfully austere production quality, his is one of the most unique sounds to hit the dark electronic scene in 2014. It only stands to reason then that the visual accompaniments continue the beautifully bleak nature of his work. His new video for "Bloom" picks up after the chilling, blood-spattered events featured in "Tethered Bones", and in it, we are again introduced to the female protagonist as she is mesmerized by beams of light travelling through her fingers—similar to the light travelling through the bullet-ridden door from the first video to which that scene is juxtaposed. From there we witness, through the eyes of a concerned Talos, some troubling actions being exhibited from the woman who is obviously haunted by previous events. We watch as she continues to bathe her head from a bucket on the ground outside, obscuring the world behind the jet black ropes of wet hair, and the disconcerting behaviour continues, culminating to a manic dance that is more akin to possession than coherent movement, while the sheets on the clothesline behind go up in flames. The stark images in the video make a very chilling compliment to the arcane sounds that Talos continues to produce. The digital and physical 12" vinyl release of "Tethered Bones"/"Bloom" is available for pre-order now via Feel Good Lost, and will be released on December 1st.
