TĀLĀ — Serbia

TĀLĀ

Serbia

Her voice has already been featured on a T.Williams track, and her first solo release tore up the Hype Machine charts, so it goes without saying that when we caught wind of this follow-up track, "Serbia", we were excited. Like "The Duchess", this one hits hard where it needs to, but also retains that fine-edged production work which separates songs of this quality from the more crude efforts that try to overwhelm with big bass hits and unpredictable sound structuring. Her style is still very much on the experimental side of things, but there's a purpose to the track that makes "Serbia" feel thoughtful and carefully designed. The beat sounds like something you might hear from TĀLĀ's indie-electronic contemporaries, but there's also some darker synths and textures that make an appearance. Then, when they're all folded in together, they coalesce to make a huge track, complete with a sense of scope that will have your head bobbing in no time. TĀLĀ has nailed down a really unique flavor here, and with such a great start, we expect to see a lot more from this London-native in the near future. "Serbia" is the first track to be released from her upcoming, three-track EP, Serbia, that will be released on June 2nd. You can pre-order the 12" HERE.
