If you rounded up a bunch of producers and told them to remix Marvin Gaye's "Peculiar", there is no way you would ever expect to hear something like what Tahana did here. We would expect most of them to leave the majority of track intact, and to do some simple flips, edits, and percussion add-ons. What Tahana did here is almost beyond comprehension, though; it's as if he cheated, honestly, because besides a few vocal lines, we have no idea how he came to this end result. Tahana is the production side-project of Sydney resident, Tom Marland (he also produces in a trio called The Nights), and we think that this is a pretty good introduction to his work. It's not having us saying he's the next Flume or anything crazy like that; we're just thinking he's got some solid potential here. Check the work out for yourself below.
