Legendarily regarded artist, producer, and overall creative mind, Ta-ku, has been putting together impressively emotionally themed works for some time, and his most recent one, Songs To Make Up To, had on it a bevy of tracks evoking all of the emotions you'd expect a work with that title to have. Unfortunately, we were without one particular cut from the standard body of tracks, and it might be the best one of them all. To illustrate the above claim, all one really needs to know is that one Alina Baraz is on the track. The reclusive, absolutely incredible R&B singer has a known habit of making every song she touches turn to glistening gold, and that's again what she does here, effortlessly, and in her own wildly spectacular way. The downtempo, simultaneously downtrodden and inspiring beat that Ta-ku provides (it's one that he's used with Atu, unsurprisingly enough) is artistic play-doh for Alina's voice, and she certainly molds it how it ought to be meld.
