Whistleback

We've been spreading SYRE's music like wildfire whenever it's come about, though it's been in spurts that we've seen material from him appear. "Minutes" and the Top 25 Instrumentals of 2013-appearing "Let Me Go" were his latest tracks tickling our affection, and today, almost out of nowhere, the Vancouver, B.C., producer has released his debut EP of sorts in the form of Whistleback. Spanning only three tracks, we were pleased with the deeply intricate sounds appearing on the EP, but ultimately, we took more to the title track than either the opening or ending efforts (though they are themselves worthy of at least a listen). "Whistleback" screamed "exotic" from the second it started, and we fell instantly in love with its adventurously electronic soundscape. It might be a little tough for some to get fully into, given the unfamiliarity of the sound, but those willing to scope our their sonic horizons will find much to revel in on the track. If you care to check out the other two efforts not here featured, visit Syre's SoundCloud for a full stream, or his Bandcamp page for purchasing.
