When a song surfaces from a group of talented musicians that don't typically appear together, it often embodies a very unique vibe, and this is precisely the case with "Grand Beach", a track that takes efforts from five artists: Swim Good (the name that Jon Lawless and Jake Scott assume when they collaborate); S. Carey (the drummer and supporting vocalist in Bon Iver); Daniela Andrade (a talented female vocalist); and Aaron Mohr (a producer previously unknown to us). Occasionally, songs made in this fashion can go horribly wrong, but we can assure you that this team of musicians created a fantastic offering with "Grand Beach". A short introductory segment consists of Andrade's distant, echoed vocals over a muffled beat, each of which suddenly snap into action and present themselves at full volume. However, they eventually get pulled away, only to be replaced with a guitar-plucking, tambourine-shaking verse from S. Carey. The collective effort possesses a fairly uncommon feel, so be sure to take a good listen below if you're keen on something different.
