The serenity sent forth on Sundays’ “Theia Mania” had us hankering for similar effusions—especially since the announcement of her new EP Neverland, as we’ve patiently waited for this day to arrive—and there’s no doubt the products within have delivered in every single facet we’d hoped. Consisting of four perforating tracks, the Canadian-based act unveils fervency through and through with her lyrics, and with the complements of well-polished instrumentals, each of the pieces will have you marinated in heartfelt notions. What’s immediately detectable on Sundays’ work is the inherently refined voice she possesses, and it engenders an essence of R&B we’re not used to, but nevertheless, incredibly glad to have. “The Veil” and “Shades Of Pemberley” particularly emphasize the claim, and her gliding vocals, chorale-heavy backdrops, pizzicato-driven synths, and augmenting drum patterns emerge into truly immaculate listens. What also emerges on the is EP is the leisurely paced tempos throughout—some that accompany the Vancouver resident’s percipient songwriting skills and surreal delivery of words—and all that go on to bring about an unearthly tenor in every piece. The already-featured “Theia Mania” pillars the claim, but the EP-titled piece “Neverland” also powerfully illustrates the ingenuity that goes both into the production, and vocal wings. With striding kicks and extrasolar synths wavering in the background, the vocals are the pivotal aspect of the piece, as they induce a heavenly vibe, and they painlessly evoke positive, prospective sensations. The EP as a whole is knit together delectably with each piece complementing the others, and we see an exciting influx of ardent emotions emerge as a result.
