Boston-based singer, Sun Cut Flat, mixes smooth jazz and experimental electronic together in his latest single, and it's one of those tracks that makes you wonder why this guy isn't tearing up the blogosphere with his ultra-slick songwriting skills. (At any rate, he's been found now, so it's only a matter of time). Our bet is that this is, on some level, a home-grown effort, but if you just listen to the music without any context, it would make just as much sense if the effort came from an established artist making use of many weeks' time in the studio. The sound is restrained in a lot of areas, so you get the feeling that the music never opens up as much as it could have, but what Sun Cut Flat trades in raw power, he more than makes up for in subtle energy and sophistication. There's not much in the way of information on him personally, heck, he's not even on Facebook, but with songs like "Happiness Is A Wandering", he won't stay overlooked for long.
