Stumbleine has been pumping out a steady stream of mellow electronic tracks for a couple of years now, but the lead track from their latest EP, Things Don’t Sparkle Like They Used To, is on a whole new level. “Nocitina” jumps out of the gates with a quiet set of notes pulled from an electric guitar, but the shallow tranquility eventually gives way to a booming bassline that pushes the track into head-bobbing territory, all the while making sure none of the sounds get too harsh. It’s a near-perfect specimen of laid-back, chill-out music, but don’t think for a second that it's going to put you to sleep. With such a solid combination of relaxed production elements, and a flow to compete with the best of ‘em, “Nicotina” might just become your go-to soundtrack for all things that require that extra bit of electronic tranquility.
