New-Jersey based alternative-pop act Stolen Jars has just released their latest effort, "Bright Red", and, while we've seen plenty of emerging pop acts in recent memory aim for a slick, synthesizer-heavy approach to their sound, theirs is set apart by their markedly organic one and unconventional song structure. Singer Molly Grund's honeyed, relaxed vocals perfectly complement the clattering percussion and playful guitar licks that decorate the track, and the song's slightly unusual DNA keeps the song sounding fresh and original from beginning to end. "Bright Red" is a delightful piece of pop that avoids predictability without sacrificing accessibility, and it certainly bodes well for Stolen Jars' releases ahead. [via Stereogum]
