London-based sonic craftsman Rob Shields has released a rather transfixing rendition of Still Parade’s “Fields”, which includes a selection of cutting-edge sounds, and an immaculate fusion of house and techno. If you have or haven’t listened to the original, it doesn’t matter, because Rob retains crucial elements of it while still managing to give the track a whole new spirit. The vocals of Niklas Kramer are better off left alone, and Shields is aware of this, as he ever so slightly reverberates it, giving this track an even more ethereal feel. You can almost sense the subtlety in Rob’s music, as he delicately unifies an enthralling collection of percussion, expressive synths, and a eerie yet addictive drum pattern, and it all makes the rework a cut above the rest.
