South of France's debut album, Another Boring Sunrise, isn't just impressive because the music is good, it's also deserving of attention because it's the very first musical offering from the LA/Denver-based duo. That's right, these twelve, high-quality tracks were released with no prior EPs, singles, or remixes as support, and the music is still very much a fully formed project with a great indie-rock vibe. All of the tracks are upbeat in the most genuine way, and the lo-fi vocals are a perfect fit for the band's relaxed production work. Check out "The Midwest", "Shadows", "When I Came To", and "September" (all below) to get a good feel for what the album is about, but even if you decide to venture further into the depths of the tracklist, you're not going to be disappointed. South of France has thrown their hat into a genre ring with some really talented bands and musicians, but don't count them out, because this is definitely an album with some serious substance behind it.
