Aaron Livingston's name might not ring any bells unless you've followed the site for over four years, as he's collaborated with hip-hop giants such as RJD2 and The Roots, but, today, we're concerned with his unaccompanied project, Son Little, and his latest piece from it, "Lay Down". Having only a handful of efforts to date, Son Little's sound is almost entirely vocal-based with live, raw instruments providing an aiding sonic hand. Take "Lay Down" here as an example, as it sees Aaron delivering passionate, persuasive lyricism alongside an incredibly comforting tone throughout. While the instrumentation might seem insignificant, unprocessed guitar riffs and choir-like backings add to Little's nostalgia-inducing style, and it all gives the track an incredibly engrossing aura that might take you by surprise.
