Snakadaktal — Isolate

Snakadaktal

Isolate

Well, it didn't take long for Snakadaktal to burst onto the scene and make a significant splash in the blink of an eye. These Melbourne based dream-pop young-lings have set a bit of curiosity & intrigue swirling around the internet in the past few months with the release their superb introduction songs, "Dance Bear" & "Ghost" & "Hung On Tight". This past Friday, their debut, Sleep in the Water was released, so in proper good music reporting we are here to advise you that hearing this album needs to be a priority in your life asap. A lot of the time up-and-coming bands release the strongest tracks off their debut in advance to get the hype rolling out. This leaves one problem: the rest of the album is not on the same kind level as the previously released singles that got you excited in the first place. In the case of Snakadaktal and their debut, this is not the case whatsoever. In today's current climate of trying to pump out as much material as possible, we see this as a rare feat because Snakadaktal have definitely saved the best for last on their debut. The breaking point for you and this realization will come courtesy of the brilliant 'nail on the head' track, "Deep". It's an immensely beautiful song that elicits a swirling amount of deep and unruly emotion. From the serene vocals of Phoebe Cockburn to the magnificent & intricate production, "Deep" is the kind of track that steals your attention instantly; prompting you to absolutely adore the all-encompassing wow factor this song induces. Moving on from "Deep" we get into the catchy guitar plucking of "Fall Underneath" and the harmonizing duet, "Isolate". Both of these songs could of easily been used as lead singles, but since we find them in thick of the album, they serve as nice little surprises and welcomed additions to an already substance-packed album. Thankfully Sleep in the Water is available worldwide and has not just been released in Australia, so head on over to iTunes, kick back and watch this become one of your favorite albums released this summer.
