The expression that age is just a number applies to music as well because these young-ins make music that defies any kind of age oriented box we can put them in. From listening to Dye It Blonde you would never would of guessed that these guys are fresh out of high school. Not that age has anything to do with the music I just thought it is kinda cool. Smith Westerns music is reminiscent of a throwback 70's psychedelic rock style. They bury their vocals in reverb and have absolutely epic guitar riffs. The song structures stay progressive and end up sounding like playful jams with no regard for any formidable structure. Dye It Blonde is my first taste of Smith Westerns and has got my attention.
