SLO is one of our favorite new singer-songwriters from the UK. Her voice is dazzling, her ambition is inspiring (she had previously been signed to Island Records where things ultimately didn't pan out), and the tracks that she creates are able to too easily take one's breath away. We were absolutely stunned by what tracks of hers we came across prior to this point, and now with her debut project's other two tracks being brought to our attention, we find ourselves again in love. While perhaps not quite as enchanting as "Shut Out Of Paradise" and "Nothing Hurts Like This", "Paradise" and "In My Arms" both succeed in making our collective spine tingle. Jess' (SLO) voice is just majestic, and the fact that she sings over such hollowed-out instrumentals makes it sound that much fuller and fantastic as a result. Color us very impressed with this EP, therefore, and let's all hope together that Jess is inspired enough by her creations here to have many more coming to us in future times.
