SLO's voice is enrapturing, is it not? We were absolutely captivated by it on a previous effort of hers we featured, "Shut Out Of Paradise", and now with another new track released today—her last one taken from her debut SLO EP—we're exposed to her singing and songwriting talents all over again. Without question, the aforementioned track of hers carried with it far more of a celestial vibe, but this new one here of hers isn't too far behind it in that regard. It carries perhaps a heavier emotional edge than that predecessor, we'd say (she says that the song's about the range of "irrational" emotions we feel while in love), and certainly, her intonation and choice of a delicate instrumental backs what sentiments she seeks to portray. "Nothing Hurts Like This" is a beautiful work, plainly and simply, and all future works from SLO are going to be ones anticipated by us as a result.
