It's become something of a commonality for artists to pop up out of nowhere and disclose a well-crafted EP, and while we're wondering why exactly that's been the case, we've been enjoying what efforts have been coming about. SLK has submitted her name to the aforementioned trend, and her first two releases, "Ride" and "Be", were excellent hype-builders for her debut EP, Form, released today. "Pour" is a track from the project we were particularly impressed by, and, like her previous releases, it stands on the darker side of the electro-pop spectrum. Minimal percussion, haunting synths, and varying vocal effects produce the shady vibe, one we've come to know and love over the months. "Pour" (and the entire EP, for that matter) is produced exclusively by Embody, and while we know next to nothing about him, there's no debating the fact that his work is absolutely on point; he's implemented an excess of brilliantly positioned subtleties on the track here, all working to polish SLK's undeniable sound. It stands to reason, then, that with Form (and "Pour" from it), SLK has established herself as a worthy contender within the realm of electo-pop; and we definitely look forward to what absorbing efforts she has to share going forward.
