Sunrise

This is Slaptop's first official foray into the realm of production, and we understand that it's always prudent to reserve final judgement until after we've heard a couple more tracks, just to make sure this guy is the real deal; but as far as foots forward go, "Sunrise" couldn't be any better of one. Instead of kicking the track off with synth lines or some sort of sound snippet collage like a lot of other dance names are doing right now, Slaptop has opted for a unique vocal hook that's way more catchy than you'd probably like to admit, and a drum line that compliments it perfectly. "Sunrise" is unabashedly lighthearted, and if the song doesn't conjure up images of sun-soaked beach parties and palm trees, then you're probably not listening to it right. That being said, the music itself is much more then just another summer dance anthem, and the theme that Slaptop is working with belies the very sophiticated instrumentation that's buzzing away just below the surface. Don't mistake the carefree sounds for something overly simple, though, because his ability to blend together jazz, house, and pop into a well-balanced song is second to none. "Sunrise" is the kind of music that could easily go viral, and its replay value is off the charts. Needless to say, it'd be smart to nab this one now if you want to stay ahead of the curve, because if our guess is correct, you're going to be hearing a lot more of this one for the rest of summer and beyond. Pre-order "Sunrise" now on iTunes.
