We’ve been soaking in the sounds of NYC producer Ryan DeRobertis since we were calling him SAINT PEPSI, and now, with alongside his "new" name, Skylar Spence, he has a glistening new album, Prom King, to share. Our last taste of it was with “I Can’t Be Your Superman”, which has been one of our favourite songs of the last month, and now with the rest of the album out for streaming, we're here to shed more light on the brilliant debut. To back up the hit single, Skylar has “Fiona Coyne”, another alternative-felt piece, and, amongst others, “Cash Wednesday,” a track that really seems to groove. In the end, DeRobertis has put together a promising compilation, and, really, we're quite impressed with the way it provides us an upbeat sound. It doesn't go without its electronic offerings, either, and they work well to round out the album as a whole. Prom King will officially be released September 18 via Carpark Records.
