Fresh, electronic-tinged pop has been banging on the Hillydilly door this year, and especially so in the past few months as we’ve come across acts like Kat Vinter and Kassandra Nunes. The laid-back, synth-filled, and vocal-accompanied hits they've been sending out have been much to our liking, and here we’d like to continue the trend with Skylar Fri’s accurately titled and seeming debut track, “Man is Strange”. “Man is Strange” is a quintessential electronic-tinted pop effort that gains steam second by second. At first, the vocals of the talented singer-songwriter step to prominence as their reverbed sounds fill the sonic space, and later, they pair successfully with a full-on underlying beat complete with addicting percussion sections and gliding synths. There’s a lot to be admired here—especially the fact that this appears to be Skylar’s first release—and though we've discovered no details on the track other than its sounds and art, we don't need any to respect the seemingly potential-packed artist. Definitely give her track a listen below, and do yourself a favor by following her on SoundCloud. If she continues releasing music of this magnitude, it’ll be a move you won't soon regret.
