Woah! What a way to kick off a music career! The LA-based indie-pop duo, SIREN, just put out their first track, and it instantly shot to the top of the Hype Machine charts, blowing away pretty much everybody able to take a listen. Their sound is a mix of the bright high notes we've come to expect from bands like The Colourist, and the bare bones synth work of groups like MSMR; but to shake things up, they've also incorporated huge anthemic sections where the music opens up in a very big way. The big booming drum hits and layers upon layers of wide open textures lend an air of gravity to the single, and not once will you find yourself wishing the chorus had more size. SIREN has pulled out all the stops for this single, and they've set the bar very high for future releases. That shouldn't be a problem for the two constituents, though, because if they managed to pull off something as good as "I Think I Like You" right out of the blue, then keeping the hot steak alive should be no trouble at all.
