Bands that are able to evolve their sound are the ones that stick around. Rather than looking to the outside for inspiration (all of the time), they often (and adeptly) look within, and that's where all the best artists find their true inspiration. This has seemed to be the case with Sir Sly's music for a while now, and we've several times been thankful for that fact. Compared to their previous tunes, "Expectations" is really only similar in one (technical) regard (we're talking about their vocalist here), but, as far as creating intrigue goes, this is exactly the kind of song that's going to have them growing in the manners that they should. Per a Facebook post from the band, the track was one of the first recorded for their upcoming second album, but since the new material has "grown, transformed, and been redefined", it no longer fits sonically. For that reason, decided to release it here and now. You can check out the track below, and you can stream it on Spotify as well.
