ODESZA is everywhere. They're on our year-end lists, in our archives (the place we keep all our posts), around the world, in our ears, in the stratosphere, and most importantly, grounded. Their music is fast becoming synonymous with electronic as a whole, and pretty soon we're going to be talking about the two (Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight) in the same breathe as the EDM giants of today (we're sidestepping the negative connotations of the acronym here, of course [ODESZA makes amazing music]). So what has us so excited about the two Seattleites? Well, on top of their truly astounding catalog of sound we always seem to be falling back on, the guys have let loose a big and beautiful remix of Sia's "Big Girls" from her 1000 Forms of Fear album that seems to pay great artistic homage to the original. Surely, sonic tact is something Clayton and Harrison seem to know a bit about, and they demonstrate it here by keeping the confident pop of Sia's alive amidst their own euphoric coating spread on top. Active percussion, keen sample usage, and glorious-sounding synths work their way into the new piece, and we foresee ourselves having it in rotation for some time as a result.
