There are few artists out right now truly perfecting the elusive alternative-R&B sound. Guys like Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, and some others come to mind, of course, but out of all the young and up-and-coming artists there are within the field, the man who is really doing the sound justice the most justice is Shy Girls. We just posted a new track of the Portland native's yesterday, and already, he's delivered another piece from his looming 4WZ project. The effort's entitled "Xhampagne", and alongside a chilling verse from indie rapper Antwon, SG utilizes a Weeknd-sounding cadence with chill synth leads and distorted, crispy drums. The hook is almost haunting, as Shy Girls admits on it, "She's only here for the champagne", and Antwon adds to the vibe with a cold line of his own: "She's in the fast lane where you get no love back". It seems that Shy Girls is going to release his project any day now, and with this new single generating even more excitement for it, we're ready as we've ever been to hear more new music from him.
