Shy Girls — Second Heartbeat (Vancington Remix)

Shy Girls

Second Heartbeat (Vancington Remix)

Many of our favorite remixes end up stemming from smooth R&B tracks, such as Snakehip's remix of The Weeknd's "Wanderlust" or CANVAS' remix of Shura's "Touch", but just from listening to the newest offering from Vancington one time through, it's already jumping out at us as being one of the best remixes we've heard all year. You might remember Shy Girls' widely popular track, "Second Heartbeat", which was released about nine months ago and made a fairly decent splash in the R&B world, but Vancington has taken the already excellent original and flipped it into what is undoubtedly one of the songs of the season. The very first seconds of the track are like a breath of fresh air, with cool synths chiming out atop what sounds like a muffled ocean in the background, and, without wasting any time, a set of fresh percussion rolls in alongside a pumping kick and a groovy bassline. Vancington then pulls it away, leaving a void for the real magic to happen in the chorus; a swell of sonic ecstasy passes through in the form of funk-infused synths, which are accompanied by Shy Girls' captivating vocals and some tropical nuances. Throughout the remainder of the piece, Vancington demonstrates his irrefutable prowess by morphing the euphoric synths in an unrestricted manner that we crave. We post many remixes on HD, but when something as special as this one comes along, we can't help but get absolutely enthralled. Make sure you give this one a good listen, because we'll definitely be playing it into the foreseeable future.
