On "Surface", the newest track from New Orleans-based producer and vocalist Shallou, you'll be stuck with a stark duality: sadness from his melancholic vocal tone, and warmth from his completely engaging dance-infused production. The synth melodies and general timbre he uses throughout coalesce into a light sound, and, as attention-pulling as it is, we think that it's Shallou's best effort to date. [via The FADER]
