When we think of electronic music of any kind, instant imagery that comes to mind involves abrasive synths, monumtenal drops, rapid-fire percussion, and other energetic nuances. It's rare to come across something smooth with any semblance of spice to it, also, though we have been seeing some more efforts of the kind in recent times. Shagabond's latest "sLOw- FIdelity" track, "Milk/Cookies", released today through DIE HIGH, exemplifies a kind of laid-back bounce that there ought to be more of, and though it moves at a fairly slow rate throughout, it moves, which is to say, progresses dynamically despite the rhythmic hypnosis it induces. It's pretty impressive to consider the effort coming from a 17-year-old, and though we've beeing been privy to that decreasing-age trend for awhile now, we're never not astonished by the paticular direction. Shagabond assures us with "Milk/Cookies" that it's a fantastic one to take.
