Canadian rappers that break into the US market are few far and between, but Shad been one of the few that have achieved the milestone. When you're playing famous New York City venues like Webster Hall (it seats 1,500), you know you've made it, so it's easy to chalk up the success that he's had as actually legitimate. According to the The Line of Best Fit's premiere of the EP, Shad and producer and DJ collaborator DJ T.Lo wanted to do something "fun and soulful", and thus, the Boarding Pass EP was born (it was just released today). It's indeed a fun, spirited listen within the hip-hop canon, and if you're a fan of classic-sounding, soul sample-heavy hip-hop, this EP is all you'll need to be satisfied.
