When SG Lewis released his debut EP, Shivers, last year, he was instantly acclaimed as one of the most promising electronic producers around. The UK producer's unique sound stood out for its slow tempo, airy synths, deep bass, echoed piano, and excellent featured vocalists, and it's safe to say that with all that, he hit an ideal niche with his sound. However, if he wanted to keep progressing as an artist, he couldn't simply repeat the same trick. Within his newly released sophomore project, Yours, SG switched up his sound in the best way possible. In "Holding Back" with Gallant and "Meant To Be", he picks up the tempo and injects a dose of funk and soul into his project, with his title track, he stands apart further through some ingenious creativity, and with his other newest release, he features a rapper for the first time with Bishop Nehru. The eclectic mix of songs on Yours mesh together brilliantly, and the result is one of the best EPs of the year, which is perhaps no surprise at all.
