It's been well over a year since we last covered the talented Parisian producer, Art Of Shades, and boy, are we glad he's back today, because his new interpetation of SG Lewis and Josh Barry's "Silence" is a thing of beauty. Up until this moment, we've never heard of the original, but after a few listens to it, we can confidently say that Art Of Shades has rivaled the original. To be sure, both efforts lean towards the downtempo spectrum of sounds, so there's not much of a difference there, but where we really like Art Of Shades' refurbishment is with the added orchestral elements; there's a real sense of added depth and emotion conveyed. Chances are high that it's going to be a toss-up in terms of picking your favourite of the two, and for that reason (and also because we missed the original, initially), we've placed them alongside each other below.
