Seyr (not to be confused with Vancouver producer, SYRE), is a relatively new duo from the UK, and they've an interesting way of writing their tracks. According to the members, (as explained on Clash Magazine), each effort of theirs belonging to their forthcoming EP, Nights Without, was written in the early, early morning, and the resulting sounds have taken on what one of the members describes as "that kind of head space you're in at those times". Interesting. While listening to their latest piece here from the project, "RHB", we can definitely see the validity in the members' description, as the track itself is methodical, slow-burning, and basically, befit for the late-night setting in was sculpted in. Minimalist production and absolutely on-point vocals by the lead singer are had on the effort, too, and the whole track really takes on an understated allure that's as hard to describe as it is easy to get attached to. Upon listening to the track for the first time, we were actually reminded of Dpat's more mellowed sounds on In Bloom, but with "RHB", of course, there are vocals attached to the stirring, synth-glittering soundscape. We're intrigued, too, by what trickling downtempo elements weave in and out of the overarching, soul-suffused sound, and, aside from being great in its own right, it's got us excited to see what other, similarly great works Seyr will be unveiling as their EP approaches.
