Seth Sentry — Float Away

Seth Sentry

Float Away

The debut album from Seth Sentry is finally here. After the tease of his debut EP back in 2008, we have been patiently waiting for Seth to show to the world his incredible ways to craft songs with his gifted song writing skills. Seth Sentry is the type of rapper that has a great perspective on the world. Seth's music speaks for a generation that has become apathetic towards the entire system that we currently find ourselves in. From the dreaded white picket fence dream, to being locked to a mindless job and to the failure of science for not having hover boards yet, it's clear that Seth feels ripped off by the expectations of this false world we are led to believe is the "right way" to live. While the hover board line in "Dear Science" is tongue and cheek banter, there are plenty of verses on this album that reflect our society perfectly. Few have the abilities to craft thought-provoking songs that make sense, have a underlying message behind them and generally do not suck. After hearing This Was Tomorrow, you might have to squeeze this one on your best of 2012 list. Yes it is that good. Production on this album is no joke. Duties are mostly held by the talented beatmakers, DJ Matik and Styalz Fuego. The strongest track on the album production wise is "Campfire"; when you listen to it right after you read this, you are going to lose your shit when the synth line drops after the first chorus. WOW. You can grab this album on iTunes right now. DO IT.
