There are few things better than witnessing an artist reach their potential independently while having them release a fully formed vision as their debut project. This DIY belief and practice is becoming more and more common among artists empowered by new technology and favorable distribution channels, and it's exactly the case with Milwaukee artist Sean Sison, whom recently released his self-produced debut, Bloom. The mixtape has been two years in the making, and we below highlighted "Save My Life", which is our favorite one single from the body of work, overall. Normally, in writing about a song that's virtually 80% sampling, we would warn you that patience would be required, but the sample—one taken from "Never Been Any Reason" by Head East—is so enchanting and deeply integrated into the fabric of the song that no patience is required.
