A few years ago when I was back packing Europe, I would meet people from New Zealand and I would always bring up the fact that I knew about Scribe's music. It was a classic ice breaker that would spark hours of convo about NZ music. This was back in 2006 when mp3 digging was not as prevalent as it is today, so it was always a fun thing to talk about with people from various countries. The Crusader was always the topic of discussion with the kiwi's. It was Scribe's debut album that was declared an instant classic by going 5x Platinum in NZ and gave Scribe the title as New Zealand's brightest hip-hop talent. Rightfully so with heady rhymes and a voice that demanded your attention. The production was also a standout on The Crusader and introduced me to P-Money. P-Money is New Zealand's equivalent of DJ Premier who has been putting in his work for many years. Dreaming and Stop The Music was produced by P-Money while Scribe Untld. is produced by Shan. Stop The Music is taken from P-Money's 2004 album Music City. Make sure you listen to Stop The Music because that song is EPIC.
