The inherent complications that come with naming your band “MOVIE” may have forced the hand of this London troupe to rename to “Screaming Peaches”, but these particular changes are merely superficial. With the release of their new single, “Sad Kid”, the band has proven that the vivacious energy that propels their unique brand of indie-pop remains very much intact. The guitar licks and synth arrangements that they display provide a healthy dose of funk that encompasses a vocal track that is downright infectious, and the sheer exuberance of “Sad Kid” is a bold and effective way to kick off their new moniker. Look for their self-titled EP due out later this year.
