Sci-Fi Scheme is the bizarre moniker of a beatmaker we are slowly familiarizing ourselves with, and “I Need U” is his latest piece that radiates an emotive atmosphere containing icy synths and some haunting vocal slices. We have absolutely no idea where Sci-Fi is brewing these feathery, yet hair-raising tracks, but we can hang on to the fact that we only know his real name (for what that's worth). Having had experience with genres such as trap and Jersey Club, Matt has taken a somewhat different approach on this track, deploying a few exquisite samples that perforate at first, and then gradually permeate through. They're accompanied by galactic synths and an ever-changing hi-hat sequence, and, as the entire rest of the effort unwinds, you'll be sucked in to each and ever element embedded within the track.
